WHY WE MADE THIS

Some people don’t get to leave the bed. Almost nothing is designed for them.

Search “pillow for sitting upright in bed” and you’ll find hundreds of people asking each other, and no brand answering. Wedges built for acid reflux. Maternity pillows that push your head forward. A pillow tower you rebuild every hour because it sinks and holds nothing up. The honest options are a $1,500 adjustable bed, or a stack of cushions and some patience.

We built one thing, properly, for the position most of those people are actually in: propped up, awake, trying to read or work or eat, for hours. It is not medical equipment and it does not look like it. It is a backrest with a high-density full-cut foam core, adjustable arms, and a headrest that moves to where your neck needs it.

What it does, plainly

It holds an upright-to-reclined angle without collapsing, so your neck and back aren’t doing the job the furniture should. High-density full-cut foam core, not shredded fill — the failure mode of most reading pillows is that they compress and you follow them down.

Wide armrests take your arms off your ribs. The bolster headrest slides up and down on velcro, so you set the neck angle instead of accepting one. Every cover panel unzips on its own, so you can wash the section that needs washing.

1.85 kg with a sewn-in carry handle, so moving it between the bed and the sofa isn’t a two-person job.

It is a positioning cushion. It doesn’t bear weight and it isn’t a mobility aid.
